Why Both Giving and Taking Are Crucial for True Connection

I identify a certain blind spot you might have that’s interfering with your  friendships, relationships, and social interactions, and how to address it. I explain  why giving and taking are equally important.

I suggest what to do if you find yourself imbalanced on either side. I guide you on how to tell if you dominate conversations.

I also share a tip for preserving your battery if you find yourself depleted during social interactions.

It’s a short - but important - episode.

Thanks for listening,

Off Brand: Choosing Connection Over Commodification and Authenticity Over Algorithm

I start this free-flowing solo episode with no set topic or structure. In this age of personal branding, formulaic creating, and calculated sharing, I discuss prioritizing connection over commodification. I tell how after extensively researching and studying the best marketing practices, I opted for authenticity over algorithm. I note where I think social media is heading, and suggest what to do about it.

What comes forth ultimately coalesces into a theme of reclamation: of self, of creativity, of privacy, of time, of authenticity, of soul, of passion, of balance, of LIFE. Whether you have a personal brand or not, this episode touches on something we can all relate to: choosing how we show up in the world, and how we individually and collectively shape that world.

We’re all in it together.

Fulfillment: Growing Your External Value While Understanding Your Internal Value

In this short solo episode, I tackle the timeless, universal question of how to live a balanced and fulfilled life. Easily done in 30 minutes, right? Despite the little time, I cover big ground and offer important distinctions that may seem minor, but actually make all the difference: when to push and when to pivot; how to integrate discipline and rest; and how to differentiate between self worth and self confidence. I also present a pretty convincing (if I do say so myself) re-frame for why you should shoot your shot, no matter how many similar products are on the market, no matter how many like thoughts are in the literature, and no matter how many fish are in the sea.

Perspective

Wow. I get into it with this episode. There are a lot of hurting/struggling/frustrated/disgruntled people in the world, and especially in the US. And there are a lot of reasons behind the suffering and discontent - as well as a lot of proposed solutions. There’s also a lot of blaming, criticizing, and side taking.

What’s the role of perspective in all of this? What’s the worth of other perspectives, particularly when facing a problem? What’s the value of staying open and entertaining other views? Should we allow for nuance? Is it worth our time considering a problem’s cause and contributors when seeking a solution? Does the problem/solution have to be binary, either/or, us or them? Is it always “wrong” versus “right”?

Happy listening.

Passion and Authenticity with Carlie Stylez

I sit down with my long-time friend and mega boss babe Carlie Stylez to reminisce and talk about...L I F E. About being propelled by drive and ambition. About being empowered by self evolution and self love. About being fulfilled by passion and authenticity.

Carlie shares her life's journey into vlogging, social media influencing, and motherhood, and how living in the spotlight affects her personally and professionally. Getting her start on her brother Shay Carl's YouTube channel, Shaytards, Carlie has since come into her own, forging a name for herself via her own brand and her involvement with The Mom's View YouTube channel. With her hand in multiple (successful!) business ventures, Carlie knows all too well the elusive quest for balance as she juggles being a mother, a wife, a friend, and an individual.

As always, we get real and we get deep, and we have a bangin' good time doing it.

I have found the ULTIMATE hac for a cheap, beautiful, quality manicure! https://www.redaspenlove.com/Party/CarlieWoodApril/ You guys if you follow me on IG you've probably seen me obsessing over these press on nails. I swear that press on nails were a thing that I thought was cool in high school and now they have come full circle and I'm so in love with them.

WE LAUGHED OUR BUTTS OFF at Lenny in this infant life swimmer and don't worry Cooper did not hurt her. Also we couldn't stop laughing at our failed home made pizza attempts. Did you see how badly they turned out!? Have you ever made home made pizzas in a brick oven.

Today on The Moms View we're excited to have Brennan Terry join us for a girls day! She brought along some of her delicious donuts! She’s a doctor of nursing practice and a nurse practitioner. She’s a mother and wife. She’s a college professor and fitness instructor. She’s a business woman and social media personality. She’s a high viber and manifester.

And underneath all of that - she’s just a grounded, cool, down-to-earth chick.

Dr. Nikki Knight and I sit down to gab about the challenges of juggling multiple obligations, the power of goal setting, and the magic of vision boarding - all while keeping it real.

She shares the wild success she’s had merging conventional medicine with natural healthcare by treating her patients (and family!) with essential oils. If you’ve previously dismissed essential oils as woo woo and non-effective - I’ll be shocked if this episode doesn’t change your mind.

We have some fun and talk some truth. It’s a good time.
